CELO brings his unique dnb influences to the fore front with his release. A two track EP including this track “Warm Up” and “Tow 67”, both spectacular tracks that would light up the dance floor in most venues. CELO has a fantastic drum production and the variations and alterations to the patterns keep the track interesting from the first beat through the break and in to the driving second half. The break down has some really nice reverse sounds swirling in a cold reverb that sweeps off into the distance. All before the heavy bass and saw tooth synths scrape in the extremes of the stereo image.

Hearing the progression and inspired development within the track is the type of music that really is enjoying to listen to and be able to focus on the different ideas that must have been floating around the producers mind at the time of writing. “Tow 67” is much the same, filled with crisp drums, interesting variations and smooth synths. This is a real pair of tracks, that are clearly from the same mindset and are both amazing to listen to.

CELO is a passionate music producer, this is obvious just from listening to any of his work. Whenever I see a release from him, I know it is going to be big.

Celo, from Denmark, has released this brilliant double track EP featuring this blinder called ‘Calling’, which is possibly one of the meanest and hypnotic tracks i’ve listened to for a while! It’s easy to throw words like that around about any track you listen too, but this honestly feels so organic, wide and spacious, yet focused and punishingly direct to the listener. The drums are developed and positioned with such precision that every sound lands perfectly in the sonic spectrum. This is a producer really on top of their game.

This is a real delight to listen too, as you reach for the volume dial, it just sounds better, and not because its louder, but because you are now inside the track which has started to progress through a development of grooves, giving a whole different feel to the track. We are hanging to the awesome synth work that we are already moving to yet the drums have really pushed us on to a new level. This is something that just needs to be listened to.

The bass tones and variations are really fun to listen to and this mixed with the drums, other synth work and space that is within the track are really inspiring for any music producer or musician to feed off. Amazing stuff.

Celo has weaved an intricate masterpiece with the track “Fall”. The energy in this release is high, pushed along with incredibly sculpted drums and subtly modulated bassline, everything that a listener wants in a drum and bass tune. This track, available on Nu-Venture Records, is top quality and I have enjoyed every second of it, so much so that I have replayed it several times in order to fully appreciate it while not writing to the groove. The instrumentation is well balanced and perfectly mixed with very effective use of effects and filters to alter the balance of the leading instruments. The drum fills and twists in the breaks are fun to listen to and give the track a real identity.

I’ve heard a fair few tracks from Celo now, and they get stronger all the time while retaining his signature sound and production values. I’d heavily recommend listening to the catalogue so that you can appreciate this music production of drum and bass at its finest.
